Scope of Practice & Safety
Last updated: 29 December 2025
Solace offers nervous-system–supportive bodywork and complementary wellness services.
This policy explains what Solace provides, what it does not provide, and how sessions are kept safe, ethical, and professionally boundaried.
In this policy, “treatment” refers to any service provided by Solace Healing, whether bodywork, facial care, or complementary modalities.
1) WHAT SOLACE OFFERS
Solace provides practitioner-led services designed to support relaxation, regulation, comfort, and general wellbeing.
Services may include (depending on your booking and the current studio menu):
• massage therapy / relaxation massage
• cupping (including Bellabaci-style dynamic cupping where offered)
• Reiki (as a complementary modality, provided only with consent)
• facial treatments (cosmetic and skin-supportive care within training scope)
All services are delivered:
• practitioner-led
• consent-led
• professionally draped at all times
2) WHAT SOLACE IS NOT
Solace is not a medical clinic, and services are not a substitute for medical or psychological care.
We do not:
• diagnose medical or mental health conditions
• prescribe or recommend supplements or ingestible substances as medical treatment
• provide counselling or psychotherapy (unless formally qualified and explicitly offered as such)
• make guarantees, “cure” claims, or medical promises
If you require medical diagnosis, urgent care, or mental health crisis support, please seek assistance from a GP, psychologist, emergency service, or relevant health professional.
3) REFERRALS + WORKING WITHIN TRAINING
Solace works strictly within current training, insurance, and professional scope.
If your needs are outside scope, training, or what is safe for your body, we may:
• modify the session
• pause or decline treatment, and/or
• recommend you seek support from a suitably qualified professional
This protects your safety and the integrity of care.
4) CONTRAINDICATIONS
(WHEN TREATMENT MAY BE MODIFIED OR DECLINED)
Treatment may be modified, postponed, or declined if you present with:
• fever, contagious illness, or acute infection
• acute injury or unexplained severe pain
• symptoms suggesting blood clot risk or DVT
• recent surgery without appropriate clearance
• uncontrolled medical conditions requiring medical oversight
• conditions where massage, cupping, or heat-based therapies are not advised
When appropriate, clearance from your treating practitioner may be requested.
5) CONSENT + SESSION SAFETY
You are in control at all times.
Consent is ongoing, and you may:
• request changes at any time
• ask to avoid any body area
• remain more clothed
• end the session early
Professional standards apply to every session:
• draping is always used
• underwear remains on
• genitals and breasts are not touched as part of Solace treatments
Your comfort and safety take priority over completing a session.
6) COMPLEMENTARY MODALITIES
(IMPORTANT CLARITY)
Some services offered by Solace (such as Reiki) are considered complementary modalities.
When provided on their own:
• they are not classified as “massage therapy” for third-party reimbursement purposes (including private health rebates)
• they are described accurately and receipted honestly
7) EDUCATION, WORKSHOPS & RETAIL (IF APPLICABLE)
If Solace offers workshops or sells herbs, tools, or supplies:
• information provided is educational and general in nature
• it is not personalised medical advice
• we do not claim to diagnose, treat, or cure illness through retail products
• you should consult a qualified medical professional for individual medical concerns
